I have an Update feature that contains only a FieldEditorWidgetType.
The value entered in this field is then retrieved and used in a script executed when the feature is validated (in the <operations> tag).
However, since this is only a field and no modification is made to the identity, the Update button remains disabled and it is impossible to validate the action.
In this context, should I change the type of my feature? If so, how should I do it and which type should I switch to?

Since no attribute of the object handled by your update feature is being modified, it becomes almost impossible to trigger or display the update button even if a script is executed in the background.
From my understanding, the update mechanism relies on detecting changes on object attributes and without any actual field update, the platform has no reason to prompt the user with an update action.
That said, I would be very interested to know if there is a workaround or an alternative approach to achieve this behavior. If you have any insights, Iām more than open to learning š
